CHECK OUT OUR 2013 EVENT SCHEDULE HERE Info: Run Wild Adventures is hosting the "Monument Peak 10 Mile Trail Run" just a short 30 mile drive east of Salem, OR. Come on out and camp the night before the event! There are several campsites available with picnic tables and firepits near the start/finish line. We will be marking course and setting up camp friday night and will host a campfire complete with music, snacks and refreshments. Directions: From I-5 exit 253 (Salem/Detroit Lake exit)take Hwy 22 East for 30 Miles until you reach the town of Gates. Turn right (south) onto Horeb Rd. and road veers left and cross the bridge then you reach Gates School Road. Turn right (west) and drive 1 mile to a split in the road and go straight here. Follow paved road which turns left and pavement ends and becomes gravel road. This is now Monument Peak road. Drive 1.2 miles up and turn right on Xmas Tree Road. Drive .3 miles to Santiam Horse Camp. MAP HERE. SIGNS WILL BE POSTED! Carpooling is always encouraged! Course Description: 10 mile Trail Run mostly on Single Track Trails mixed with some Logging Roads! Amazing views, scenic and well maintained single track trails, challenging terrain and several small creek crossings make up this beautiful trail run at Oregon Dept of Forestry's Monument Peak! Course begins by running a short 1.5 mile total out and back on a gravel road and trail to allow runners to spread out a bit and eliminate any bottlenecking, then its on to the trails! Course has been measured several times using GPS. There will be one Aid Station located about halfway on the course featuring Heed Electrolyte and Water. Dogs are always welcome. Sorry, NO jogging strollers allowed. Awards for the Top 3 overall Male and Female finishers and age group winners! Age groups are 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.
