Run Wild Adventures is hosting the 1st annual Silver Falls Trail Half Marathon just outside of Silverton OR. at the Beautiful Silver Falls State Park!
Directions:
From South Salem I-5 take Hwy 22 east 5 miles and turn on Hwy 214 Silver Falls Hwy. Follow Hwy 214 for 15 miles to park entrance.
From Portland go south I-5 to Woodburn Exit #271 and follow signs to Hwy 214 into Silverton. From North Salem head east on Silverton Rd. NE/Hwy 213 into Silverton. Map
Then From Silverton head out South Water St./Hwy 214 , for 15 miles to "South Falls" park entrance on the right and look for "Race Today" signs! Proceed past fee booth and go left to event area. Day use and parking fee included in entry! Carpooling is strongly encouraged! Camping is available!
Course Description:
THIS IS A FIRST TIME EVENT ON THE FALLS TRAIL! Very scenic 13.1 mile trail run around the Silver Falls State Park. Beautiful and well maintained trails mixed with some paved paths that pass nearly 10 waterfalls with several twists and turns and some elevation gain. Amazing views, huge fir trees and several bridge crossings make up this picturesque course! Popular trails include Canyon Trail, Maple Ridge Trail, Rim Trail and several others to make up this amazing Half Marathon Course! The first mile or so is on paved road before hitting the trails. No time limit on finishing this event. The Start/Finish area will be located in the "South Falls" day use area with a covered pavilion, running water, restrooms and a firepit! Course will be well marked with arrows and have 3 aid stations. Sorry, dogs and jogging strollers are not allowed on this course. Handmade awards for the Top 3 overall Male and Female Finishers and first place age group winners! Unique handmade awards provided by Friends of Silver Falls!
